Chilli Garlic Oil is a versatile oil. It adds incredible flavour and spices up your dishes. Drizzle it on your noodles, pasta, vegetables, pizza, use it for your stir-fry sauces. It’s also perfect as a dip. It’s pretty easy to make and only takes a few minutes.
INGREDIENTS
- Garlic – 2 heads
- Chilli pepper – 20 – 25 pieces
- Vegetable oil – 1 & 1/2 cup
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
- Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon, optional
- Sugar – 1/2 tablespoon, optional
PROCEDURE
Step 1
Soak the chilli peppers in warm water until soften. Soaking is optional, you could pound it dry instead.
Step 2
Finely chop or coarsely blend the pepper and garlic.
Step 3
Heat up the vegetable oil on low heat.
Step 4
Add the pepper and garlic. Fry on low heat stirring from time to time so it doesn’t burn.
Step 5
Add some salt to taste. You can add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce for colour and 1/2 tablespoon of sugar for sweetness.
Step 6
Continue frying on low heat until it seems dry and not burnt.
Step 7
Turn off the heat and cool completely.
Step 8
You can strain and discard the garlic and pepper, leaving just the oil.
Transfer to a clean jar, cover, and store in the fridge.
