Chocolate banana bread is a quick bread with a cake-like texture. It’s moist, delicious, and perfect for breakfast, dessert, or as a snack. Nuts and dried fruits can also be added if desired.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup melted butter or oil
- 1 1/4 cups mashed bananas
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
PROCEDURE
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a loaf pan with butter. Set aside. Add all the dry ingredients to a mixing bowl.
In another bowl mash the bananas with a fork, add the eggs, melted butter or oil and vanilla extract.
Step 2
Whisk together the dry ingredients and create a well. Gently mix together the wet ingredients and pour into the dry.
Step 3
And mix just until moistened. Do not over mix.
Step 4
Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Step 5
Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for about 15 minutes then remove from pan and cool completely.
