Pound cake is a heavy cake that has a tight crumb that is perfectly dense and not crumbly. It is packed full of flavour, it’s soft, buttery, and moist.

INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups – cake flour
- 1 cup – unsalted butter
- 1 cup – sugar
- 1 teaspoon – baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon – salt
- 5 – eggs
- 2 teaspoons – vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons – milk
PROCEDURE
Preheat your oven to 350° F.
Grease a 9 * 5 loaf pan or round pan with butter or oil and line the bottom with parchment paper or dust the bottom with flour. Set aside.
Whisk together the flour and salt, gradually add the flour and mix just until combined.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and beat to combine.
Add the flour a little at a time and milk. Mix just until it’s combined. Do not over mix.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 50 to 55 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
