There are so many methods of making yam pottage, this is one I like to use when I want food ready in minutes and it tastes absolutely delicious.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 small tuber of yam – cut into chunks
- 1 medium sweet potato – cut into cubes
- 1 big onion, chopped
- 1 to 2 cooking spoons palm oil
- 4 tablespoons reduced pepper mix
- 2 tablespoons ground crayfish
- Seasoning cubes to taste
- Salt to taste
PROCEDURE
Step 1
Gather the ingredients needed.
Step 2
Set a clean pot on medium heat, add the yam, sweet potato cubes, chopped onions and pour in just enough water to cook the yam, cover and allow to cook.
Step 3
When the yam is tender, the potatoes should have been mushy. That is what you want, break up some of the yam with a spatula.
Step 4
Turn the heat down to low, add the pepper, crayfish, palm oil and some seasoning cubes and salt to taste. Stir to combine and allow to cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 5
Take off heat and allow to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Step 6
Enjoy!
