Simple, quick, and flavourful sausage rolls that are a total delight and an absolute crowd-pleaser.
INGREDIENTS
DOUGH
- All-purpose flour – 4 1/2 cups
- Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
- Butter or margarine – 1 cup, cold
- Water – 1 cup, cold
FILLING
- Beef sausage meat – 500 grams
- Paprika – 1/2 to 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
PROCEDURE
STEP 1
Pour the flour into a sizeable bowl, add the baking powder and salt. Mix to combine.
Step 2
Add the butter or margarine
Step 3
Using the tips of your fingers, rub the butter into the flour until the mixture looks like large bread crumbs.
Step 4
Add the water and mix gently until the dough comes together.
Step 5
Divide the dough into two, cover, and refrigerate for 45 minutes.
Step 6
Add the paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to the ground sausage.
Step 7
Mix until combined.
Step 8
Take a piece of dough and roll it out.
Step 9
Add a few tablespoons of the filling.
Step 10
Roll gently but tightly.
Step 11
Cut into desired size
Step 12
Arrange on a baking tray. Crack an egg and whisk.
Step 13
Gently brush on the beaten egg. Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F oven for 25 minutes.

Hello. I use President, Arla, Covap or whatever I have on hand. For margarine I use rhoda, topper and the likes.
How did you make up the beef sausage meat for the filling?
