INGREDIENTS

PROCEDURE

Step 1

Pour the lukewarm water, yeast and one teaspoon of sugar into the bowl of your stand mixer. Mix to combine, then set aside to bloom for 5 to 10 minutes

Bloomed yeast

Step 2

Next, add the rest of the ingredients into the bowl

Step 3

Knead for 8 to 15 minutes or until the dough is smooth and stretchy. This process is essential for developing the gluten, which will give your finished product a much better texture

Step 4

Shape into a ball, and transfer into an oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until it has visibly doubled in volume

Step 5

Uncover the dough, and punch it down to remove air bubbles

Divide the dough into 20 to 24 pieces

Shape the doughs into uniform balls, and transfer into a buttered pan or a pan that has been lined. I used two pans

Step 6

Cover the pans loosely, and set aside to rise for 1 hour to rise in a warm spot

Step 7

Towards the end of the rising period, please preheat your oven to 180°C. Uncover the pan and bake it in the oven for about 25 minutes

Step 8

Remove the rolls from the pan and transfer unto a wire rack to cool completely

Step 9

You can brush the top of the rolls with melted butter for a bit of shine and flavor. This simple step adds a nice finish and enhances the overall taste

Enjoy
